"VIP Visitor & Family" lesson plan
a) Scenario
1. Mr. Alby Ralston, the general manager of an Australian wholesale company (Ace Supplies Pty Ltd) is coming on a business trip to Wuhan. He expects to discuss some import/export deals in the first two days of his visit. However on the third day he will be joined by his wife, his son and his daughter for a short, four day holiday in Hubei. Mr. Ralston is a very important business contact, so your office has been assigned to prepare a holiday program for the family
2. Mr. Ralston does not see enough of his family, so they will expect to be together as much as possible. However, the family members have rather different interests, and will be prepared to split up some of the time.
b) Project Plan
1. Form small project teams.
2. Appoint a secretary. This person must collect and organize everyone's ideas.
3. Choose a person to be the public affairs director. This person is responsible for checking details of the itinerary and making sure everything works out.
4. Brainstorm general ideas for an itinerary with your team.
5. Assign a different team member to create the best itinerary for each family member.
6. Bring the individual itineraries together and negotiate the best compromise for the whole family.
7. Compare your itinerary with that prepared by other class teams.
