Rain & Wind – two children’s poems by Thor May

 1. Pitter-pat

Pitter-pat pitter-pat

Rain on the roof, rain on the glass

Down it comes,  down it comes

Splitter-splat splitter-splat

On the pavement, on the grass

On the pavement, on the grass

Making puddles, splitter-splat

Making  rivers, wishy-washy

In the mud, squishy-squashy

In the mud, squishy-squashy

Comes a truck, comes a truck

In the puddles, splatter-SPLASH !!

2. Mad Wind, Bad  Wind

Swirling wind, whirling wind

Whirling wind, swirling wind

Where it comes from, where it goes

No one knows, no one knows

In the sky, in the blue

Clouds are racing, clouds are dancing

On the hillside, in the valley

Whistling wind, grizzling wind

Sways the grass, bends the trees

Like a devil, like a devil

Under doors and through the windows

Howls the wind, growls the wind

Coming in to steal the children

Mad wind, bad wind, catch me if you can !
