Truce

Thor May

Mother Now if you kids behave yourselves, we can go to the amusement park on Saturday afternoon. You have to stop quarreling though.
Bernice But mum, he won't let me use his bike. Could you tell him he has to lend it to me tomorrow.
Jim She'll wreck it, and she'll let other kids use it. Why don't you tell her to catch the bus?
Mother Look, you two! You have to be fair, and work things out together. The bus comes too late, so she can't take it Jim. Bernice, you take care of the bike and lock it up while you are doing the music exam. OK?
Bernice I have to get to the music exam. Of course I'll look after the bike.
You'd better! Can I use your MP3 player while you are away then?
Bernice Oh, all right. If you break it, I'll kill you.
Mother Well, it sounds like we have a truce. See, everyone can win in the end.
