Chungju, South Korea 2004 - 2005

Chungju before the rice harvest

Chungju in winter

exbuberant summer growth

heavy with grain, ready for the harvest

neat paddies in every available space

rural village between the city and the university

fallow ground after the harvest

the biggest created lake in Korea is just upstream on the Han river here, but Jojeongi Dam is just downstream too

I cycle to the university most days - almost a 20km round trip

parts of the river are idyllic

a narrow unlit bridge - the backroad to town and scary on a bike at night

Chungju city across the river
