Time Passing -- A Miscellany of Poems; ŠThor May 1996     index

My hands are damp flowers, damp flowers

Whose long pale petals tremble and fall

And fall from your face.

Can you hear me?

Will you hear me?

But your skin is now sculptured and glazed.

Can you free me?

Will you free me?

To shape, to create and engrave?

Are you running?

Are you running?

So pretty, inspiring and brave.

Let me know you,

Oh I knew you;

Dear youth, have I loved you in vain?
